Oklahoma Panhandle State University AITP Student Chapter is dedicated to providing its members with the opportunity to exercise and expound upon their abilities in the technological community. Our chapter is a member of Region 3 which includes not only the state of Oklahoma, but the states of New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. We compete annually in AITP sanctioned events throughout this region and have repeatedly returned with high honors.
These events provide our members with invaluable experience in the many areas of information technology. Via a highly competitive environment, members experience fist hand the amount of time and hard work it takes to complete a given task. This in turn provides them with working real-world knowledge of scenarios they could encounter in their given profession.
Providing our members with such an experience does require a considerable amount of financial support. As a student chapter, we raise funds through local events and traditional fund raisers. We also receive financial support through the university’s student body government, Student Senate. Even with this generous support, Oklahoma Panhandle State University AITP Student Chapter, often finds itself still lacking in funds. It is at this point that we look to our surrounding community for further assistance.
